Typically, when I annotate, I underline the sentence, words, or phrases that provides the gist of the paragraph, because sometimes extra wording/ continuations are unnecessarily added. I also typically, highlight words that I am not familiar with or see being used in a different context, and ideas that are particularly similar or unique to my own. When I research the definition, I add an asterisk beside the paragraph, so that I can then have a better understanding of the reading. I sometimes reiterate sentences or phrases that I agree with or find profound beside the paragraph, so that I can easily remember them.

Hello! First things first, my name is Anjoli Harris, Penn State University student majoring in Business Management and Marketing and minoring in Entrepreneurship. I was born in Philadelphia, Pa, that great ole' city of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection, but 9 years into my life, my family and I relocated to Wyneewood, Pa in Lower Merion, which I don "the town of families. Literally, everyone is nice there. One of the most proud things that I can say about being apart of that community, is that I attribute much of my expectations and experience to them!
